God created the world through love, and it is through love that man may come to understand the mystery of the divine presence in all things. Their verses were designed to convey the essential belief of mystical Islam in the overriding importance of love as the supreme force of creation and as the unique medium through which God’s creatures may truly come to know Him. ![]() The rich literary heritage of the major indigenous languages of Pakistan has at its heart the wonderful poetry created by many great Sufis of the pre-modern period, dating from mediaeval times down to the late nineteenth century. ![]()
