![]() ![]() The author manages to create some fairly unique ideas about immortality and the afterlife, and I didn't find myself to be bored. There are not any really amazing revelations or surprises that the reader doesn't see coming, but it manages to move along at a fairly brisk pace and hold the readers interest. When a new boy comes to school who everyone is enamored with, Ever tries to avoid him but after coming into contact with him, realizes that she cannot read his thought or read his aura and even better, the other voices are quieted when he is around.All around, this is a pretty decent novel. This is not something that she can turn on and off, it is ON all of the time and is to the point of almost driving her nuts. ![]() In the course of her recovery, she has found that she now has the ability to see peoples auras and read their thoughts. ![]() I received this book as an early review copy from the publisher and I have to say that for a young adult book geared towards teenage girls I (a 35 year-old male) actually enjoyed it for the first part.The story revolves around a teenage girl named Ever who has lost her entire family in a tragic accident. ![]()
